About Us

We are the Precarious Office of Scotland

Who we are and what we do?

The Edinburgh Precarious Office is an organisation which provides free care, support and advice (legal aid) to all working people, Spanish-speaking migrants and residents throughout Scotland.
Our primary objective is to support and promote better living conditions in general and the working conditions in particular of Spanish-speaking migrants in Scotland.
We mainly provide information, advice and support on the rights of migration and facilitate access to existing labour, legal and trade union resources.

Among our objectives are:

Promote independence, solidarity and emancipation – and Defence – through giving information, support and advice and / or report the rights of working migration in Scotland, both labour, union and life in general.
Provide tools to solve labour / legal problems / disputes, either through our service or through the search of existing resources in Scotland.
The advice will be through the email first, make an appointment , and fill out the form of the consultations, some will require an appointment and these will be selected in order of importance and / or urgency. All advice is strictly confidential with the exceptions provided by law (Data Protection Act 1998) .

Consultation by appointment are held on Fridays and Saturdays.

The Precarious Office is online and cites people on issues of employment, discrimination, and migration issues in Scotland. It also promotes internationality and integration through workshops and / or talks that facilitate self-defence in the face of such conflicts.
In the face-to-face consultations of the Precarious Office in Edinburgh, we give important information on topics such as social aids, language courses, employment problems or advice to people who want to self-manage their own employment as a way out of job insecurity. The aim is to support people who have migrated to Scotland so that they can orient themselves in a city and a country different from the one of origin, to exercise citizenship with normality and to assert their rights.
Although offering advice in Spanish most of the people who visit us have Spanish or Latin American citizenship, we want to support everyone regardless of their origin, age, sexual orientation or ideology (but we do not tolerate – zero tolerance – sexist attitudes , Racist or discriminatory of any kind towards other people).
If you need to fill out a form, you must bring it in with all the information you can write. This way the consultation ends sooner and we can attend to more people. Remember that you can also send us queries by mail (pie.edimburgo@gmail.com) or through the form on our website We want to support everyone regardless of their origin, age, sexual orientation or ideology (but we do not tolerate – zero tolerance – sexist, racist or discriminatory attitudes towards other people). If you need to fill out a form, you must bring it in with all the information you can write. This way the consultation ends sooner and we can attend to more people. Remember that you can also send us queries by mail (pie.edimburgo@gmail.com) or through the form on our website You must bring it printed and with all the data that you can write. This way the consultation ends sooner and we can attend to more people. Remember that you can also send us queries by mail (contacto@piescotland.org) or through the form on our website You must bring it printed and with all the data that you can write. This way the consultation ends sooner and we can attend to more people. Remember that you can also send us queries by mail (pie.edimburgo@gmail.com) or through the form on our website

IMPORTANT NOTE :: The OP-PIE does not help to obtain a job, nor serves as accommodation agency, tourist guide, etc … nor can solve the problem for you, but if we help you to solve it.

The Precarious Office is also a link between the migrant working community and the existing resources in the area, organizations that provide assistance, solidarity organizations, guidance and support on different issues.  And facilitates contact with these entities.

That is, this information does not form part of a legal advice carried out by a legal person with jurisdiction for the legal exercise and representation of the person who consults.

This is solidarity, not charity. That means that if we help you with a problem, we may get in touch to ask you to help someone else. – supporting other peoples struggles, perhaps helping someone in a similar situation to yourself. Obviously the choice whether you do or not is up to you, but our goal is more than just helping individuals. We want to build a culture of solidarity amongst ordinary people, so that when bosses or landlords or letting agents mess with one of us, they’re messing with all of us. It’s time to stand up to bosses and bureaucrats, landlords and letting agents. An injury to one is an injury to all!”
